Brief Background of Yasu

Yasu, born in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, spent 2 years in Mozambique teaching computer skills. He then trained in sushi making at Tokyo Sushi Academy and worked at Ginza Iwa. After this, he joined Plan Do See America, working at Sushi Azabu in NYC and The Den, Azabu Miami. During this time, he incorporated South American culture into traditional sushi techniques. In 2020, he and his wife opened their restaurant, Sushi Yasu Tanaka by Masumura in MIA Market.
