Cecile Hardy Tanguis, Design & Operations
A New Orleans native, Cecile Hardy Tanguis’ passion for business was first sewn from her eye for fashion. After growing up in New Orleans, she went on to study art and business. After completing a graduate program in New York, she moved to San Francisco where she became a designer and merchandiser for the women’s division of Gap’s corporate headquarters. After Gap, she moved over to Williams-Sonoma headquarters to help launch the high-end, emerging brand, Williams-Sonoma Home.
In 2006, Cecile launched NOLA Couture, a New Orleans-inspired clothing and accessories brand that celebrates the city's culture through custom designs. NOLA Couture emerged in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lift peoples' spirits and help rebuild the local economy. Cecile’s knack for creating beautiful pieces of clothing has translated to creating colorful food and hospitality concepts like Poke Loa that appeal to culinary and creative types alike. She finds inspiration from travel, fresh foods and her French bulldogs, Mini and Piggy.
